Amendment to
The minutes should have read that the Coylton A team were barred from any cup games this season not just Drew McCutcheon and Jim Currie. The error arose because they were the only members of that team to sign this season.

It was brought up that Ronnie
McCutcheon is in the same position. Tom Laird (Sharky) proposed that he be
allowed to play and this was seconded by Mark McAllister.
Bobby McDowall said that due
to time constraints in getting out the fixture list it had been impossible to
include the Golf Club and Coylton as Cup Sponsors.
A sheet was passed round to
collect the telephone numbers for team captains and the names of designated
referees from each team

New business
It was brought up that
Charlie Dempsey was signed up for two different teams namely the Eglington and
Boyd’s Bar the decision was reached that he is transferred to Boyd’s Bar which
means he is cup-tied for the Welcome Cup.
The Eglington is shut for the
month of September which means that all their games will be played away for
this period.
Jim Bone brought up the fact
that due to some teams having a large number of players there might be a
problem with catering arrangements. It was pointed out that not all players
tend to eat on pool nights and so the arrangements in place at the moment would
be adequate.
Due to the change in the
Licensing Law rules we are still looking at the possibility of holding the Men’s,
Ladies and Doubles in the one venue. If it is not possible then we will need
sponsors and venues.
The sheets for the Men’s
Singles were handed out to each team please note that the entry fee is £3:00 to
be paid at the October meeting.
Please note on the fixture
list the last game of the season should read Golf Club versus Coylton and not
Craigmark.
The Ryan Halkett will be
sponsored by Mark McAllister to the tune of £200:00 and the venue will be the
golf club.
Craig Tara
Due to a mix up we have not
been receiving SPA minutes which meant we missed the entry deadline but
fortunately we are still being allowed to compete. This means that we have to
pay the entry fee by Sunday 06/09/09 and at this time we also have to pay the
booking fee for the caravans. The league will meet this cost to be reimbursed
by the players selected by the November meeting. Any player who is selected and
does not pay will be automatically banned from playing.
The SPA will be contacted to
ensure that in the future minutes will be sent to Alec Murphy and Bobby
McDowall. Alec Murphy will be given a team list but any player who is
interested in playing please contact either Alec or Bobby as soon as possible.
Please note that the dates for the competition are November 20th-22nd
and will cost £36:00 plus spending money.

Teams Present
All teams were represented. Apologies
There were no apologies. Minutes
The minutes of the last
meeting were read out and were proposed and seconded by Mark McCutcheon and
Michael Purdie respectively. Matters arising
In the previous minutes the signings under the Dalmellington Inn should only have been Deborah Graham the rest of the players are signed for the Bowling Club. The secretary apologises for any confusion this may have caused.
The Eglington will still be playing all their games away for the next month. Hopefully this situation will be resolved by the next meeting.
The Committee are still waiting for names of referees from the Craigmark and the Dalmellington Inn.
The money for Craig Tara has been paid and Alec Murphy has a list of potential players for this competition. It must be stressed that any players selected must have their accommodation money paid by the November meeting. Failure to pay said monies will result in the defaulting player being dropped from the team.
Tam Laird (Sharky) asked if
the Pool League was paying the entry fee to the competition as we had lost the
chance of getting a sponsor for the team as the shirts are not the property of
the league. Welcome Cup
Congratulations to the Golf Club on winning the Welcome Cup and commiserations to the Welcome team after closely fought final. The League would also like to thank The Welcome Pub for sponsoring the competition and Jim McLean, Davie Donachie, Bobby McDowell and Michael Purdie for acting as referees on the night.

New Business
The draw was made for the Ryan Halkett Cup and handed out to all teams. In the past any monies collected at the matches i.e. through Corgis etc has been donated to the selected Charity and the committee hopes that will continue. This year the selected charity is the Beetson and as previous years the league will be making a donation.
At this point in the
proceedings the draw was to have been made for the Men’s Singles using the same
format as last year, but several members voiced the opinion that the
competition should be played on a single day. The chairperson then informed the
meeting that the only way that this could be done is by calling an E.G.M as per
the relevant section of the constitution (Section 5). This meant we could not
carry out the draw as it would be against the wishes of the members if there is
a possibility of an E.G.M being called.
The Chairperson brought up
the fact that there is still a match to be played from last season between the
Craig Tara team and the rest of the Doon Valley Pool League. This is to be
played at the Eglington at a time to be decided later.
It was brought up at the
meeting that in the interest of good sportsmanship when players are playing
games if the spectators and team members could keep the noise down.
The Chairman then informed
the meeting that shortly after the A.G.M. he had been contacted by an ex-member
of the league requesting the name of the Leagues Legal representative as he was
wanting to know why he was banned from competitions in the season 2009-10. The
Chairman stated that there were several text communications and requests for
minutes from last year and that this had been complied with. The chairman has
since informed the ex-member that any further communication should be conducted
in writing and to that end he has furnished his address and the secretary’s
address.
At this point in the meeting
it was proposed and seconded by Shirley Logie and Tam Laird (Sharky) that no
member contact a committee member after
